TracWare appoints new Chairman
TracWare
is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Gustar
O.B.E. as its non-executive Chairman.
Chris has spent many years in the Aerospace & Defence industry, in aviation engineering, manufacturing and MRO, and was a PLC Director of Westland, the helicopter manufacture. He was later the Chief Executive of GKN's Aerospace activities.
Chris began his career as a Westland engineering apprentice and later ran the companies electronics and software businesses. Under the chairmanship of Lord Cuckney he formed Westland Aerospace, an advanced structures business, utilising the assets of the British Hovercraft Company, of which he was the Managing Director. Following the acquisition of Westland by GKN, the UK's largest Aerospace and Automotive group, Chris acquired a number of advanced composite businesses in the UK, USA and Europe to reinforce the group's position in the market, including special security arrangements for US defence contracts. GKN Aerospace is now the world's leader in composite aircraft primary structures.
During this time Chris gained extensive experience in acquisition integration, and the implementation of large business enterprise systems relevant to TracWare's current activities
Chris is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers, a former member of the Government's DTI Aviation Committee and was Chairman of the SBAC Sino Working Group. He maintains ongoing Board level relationships with many leading airframe and engine manufactures for both rotary and fixed wing aircraft and aviation support service companies.
