The following information aims to provide a basic minimum specification for both the server and the client PCs in order to ensure Tracware's software performs as intended. If you have further questions regarding the hardware arrangements, please contact info@tracware.co.uk.

Tracware's software systems are true 32-bit applications and have been designed using standard Microsoft products for ease of support.

Network Requirements

  • Microsoft Networking

  • Network speeds of 10Mbps + (100Mbps or more highly recommended)

  • If wireless networks are used then the signal strength must be strong

Server Minimum Specification

Hardware

  • 512MB RAM

  • 2GHz processor

  • 8GB of storage available

  • Broadband Internet access for remote administration

Software

  • Microsoft Windows: NT4 Server SP6, 2000 Server or 2003 Server
    (For up to 50 users, SBS 2000 or SBS 2003 is recommended)

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (SP4) (included in SBS 2000)
    -or-
    Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (SP2) (included in SBS 2003 Premium)

  • Terminal Services, VNC or LogMeIn.com account for remote administration

Client Minimum Specification

Hardware

  • 128MB RAM for Windows NT4 Workstation and 98SE
    256MB RAM for Windows 2000
    512MB RAM for Windows XP
    1GB RAM for Windows Vista

  • 700MHz processor
    (Microsoft recommends a 1GHz processor for Windows Vista)

  • 500MB of storage available

  • 800x600 screen resolution (with taskbar hidden or not on top)
    (1024x768 screen resolution recommended)
    1024x768 screen resolution for Configuration Status module

Software

  • Microsoft Windows: NT4 Workstation, 98SE, 2000, XP or Vista

  • Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express or compatible MAPI client for e-mail facilities
